Type: They are single-celled eukaryotes (organisms with a nucleus).
Size: They are significantly larger than bacteria or viruses but still generally require a microscope to be seen.
Role: While many are harmless and play vital roles in ecosystems (like those found in soil or water), some are well-known pathogens responsible for diseases such as malaria and sleeping sickness.
I put this together and put it here for any other autodidactic soil stewards out there who may also find this usefull to have on hand from time to time.
